The residency was awarded to Tra Bouscaren, a post-disciplinary artist focused on American spectacle at the crossroads of waste culture and the surveillance state. Tra was generous enough to take time away from his family during the holidays, from his busy teaching schedule at Florida State University, and from his active art practice (currently has the show “Test Pattern” up at Pensacola Florida’s Lamar Studio) to spend some time traversing the creative landscape of the Lakes in order to help empower new tools and technologies for future works.
The discussion and experimentation was wide ranging . . . LiDAR scanners, gigabit network video topologies, the performance characteristics of Exmor-R sensors in low light, skin walkers, wirecams, brown noise, bluetooth hacking, and lots and lots of art concepts and explorations.
